Soil is a distinctive mixture of minerals, organic matter, gases, liquids, and the myriad of organisms that together support plant life. Soil acts as a recycling system for nutrients, a regulator of water quality, a modifier of atmospheric composition, the largest surficial global carbon reservoir on Earth, and potentially one of the most reactive mediums to human disturbance and climate change.

Soil holds a range of available niches and habitats for optimum plant growth. The increasing uses of pesticides and other chemical adulterations over time is severely harming the environment. The health of both livestock and humans is also deteriorating because of the increased presence of these chemical changes in the food and water that we consume.

Under Sacchi Kheti, we attempt to harness the potential inherent in the soil by encouraging small and marginal farmers to adopt modern green cultivation practices. We work with tribal communities in the tri-junction region of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, facilitating 1,30,000+ families to establish Mrida (Soil Sovereignty). This campaign works to enhance soil fertility, reduce carbon emissions, and improve food & nutrition security.

Vaagdhara focuses on agriculture as an avenue to create social awareness about tribal sovereignty, food and nutrition security, and livelihood enhancement in secluded villages. Our work reflects our Gandhian philosophy of self-sustainability in all aspects of life.
